Looking back, 2023 was a successful year for 50Hertz: the company can report an annual result of 220 million euros. The company also plans to continue financing the investments required for the additional grid conversion and expansion primarily via the capital markets - for example, the first green KfW loan totalling 600 million euros was procured in 2023. The "green loan" was provided by various banks at the end of March 2023 from the KfW's "Climate protection offensive for companies" programme. 50Hertz will use the loan to co-finance the Ost-6-1 offshore grid connection for the Gennaker wind farm off the coast of the Darß, which includes two offshore substations and three submarine cable systems. In 2023, the investment volume totalled 1.686 billion euros.
